UFC Welterweight Nick Diaz Is Officially Retired

Yesterday we dropped a video of Nick Diaz blowing off some steam with a pair of nunchucks in his home, and we thought everything was going well in his head since he posted the video. Well, apparently it’s not because his idea about retiring isn’t any different now than it was when he made the statement during the post fight interview with Joe Rogan at UFC 158.

It now looks like Diaz was completely serious about retiring. Unless the UFC gives him one of the two options his manager formally announced to Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight.

“Right now, he’s retired, unless he gets a rematch with Georges St-Pierre or the big Anderson Silva fight. Apparently if he doesn’t get those fights, he is going to remain retired.”

So there you have, Diaz will officially return in the Octagon if he gets a rematch with Georges St-Pierre, or if Dana White gives him a superfight with Anderson Silva. Does he deserve it? If you ask me, most definitely not. The man is currently coming off back-to-back decision losses. However, if White gives him one of the two options, I’ll still watch a Nick Diaz fight any day.
