If you’re a fan of the Leprechaun franchise, then you likely already know that a reboot has been in the works. The WWE/Lionsgate flick, Leprechaun: Origins is already in post production and has had its first screening, and it’s been reported that darker and more traditionalthan the original 1993 film starring the one and only Peck Warwick Davis and dear friend Jennifer Aniston.
Leprechaun: Origins was directed by On the Lot contestant visual effects artist Zach Lipovsky. In a recent interview with CraveOnline Lipovsky talked about his upcoming directorial film debut:
It’s basically a complete refresh, reboot. We’re not trying to copy or really do at all what the last one did. It kind of did what it was doing so well, that’s why they made so many of them, but we’re going a completely new direction and completely new world and everything…
There’s no word on what the premise of the new film will be, but it does star Dylan Postl (WWE’s Hornswoggle), Stephanie Bennett, Teach Grant, Bruce Blain, and Adam Boys. Word is that Leprechaun: Origins will hit the streets in the spring of 2014.
