Jim Breuer’s “Old School” Actually Rocks!

I’ll admit it, I’ve basically ignored any news about Jim Breuer and the Loud & Rowdy because, well, it’s comedian Jim Breuer. But I finally clicked on something, and I have to admit that I actually really liked it.

What I ended up watching was the video for “Old School,” which is a lyrical homage to many of the greats in heavy metal… with a kick-ass hook!

Breuer commented on the track:

This song is the perfect catchy summertime Hard Rock tune for you, and it’s a throwback! It’s ‘OLD SCHOOL.’

The recently released Songs From the Garage debuted at #13 on the Billboard Hard Rock Music Albums chart, plus #116 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart. To preview and purchase the album, go here.

Songs From the Garage features 11 tracks that are not only funny, but also relatable, reflecting Breuer’s position in life: “A dad with three kids who loves family life, yet is still a metalhead at heart.” Breuer set out to make (most importantly) solid heavy rock, while maintaining a balance of comedy. The album also includes special guests such as Brian Johnson (AC/DC), who provides vocals on two tracks, and producer/guitarist Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat).
