New York-based Fear Is Dead, have returned with another track and for “Dirtnap.”unit,
The riff-heavy song can be found on the band’s EP, What Remains, which was released in August 2017. As mentioned, the track is rife with heavy riffing, as well as some thunderous percussion. While “Dirtnap” does sound like it’s meant to be a thrash metal track, it is missing the genre’s requisite guitar solo, which is a minus. On the plus side, the vocal delivery offers a unique melody, however, the mixing seems off and, at times, certain elements get buried when they should be brought to the front.
About the track, Skila stated:
’Dirtnap’ is about frustration, in regard to society/humanity, and how we keep repeating our mistakes. Things sometimes feel pointless, like, ‘we keep coming back just to feed the worms.’
