, my favorite Irish fighter, finally makes his return inside the Octagon next month after being away from the sport for a long time due to a torn ACL he suffered during his bout with Max Holloway at Fight Night 26. The injury kept him out of action for 10 months, and now it sounds like the knee is just a “distant memory” for the Irishman. UFC officially announced on Wednesday that he will face American mixed martial artist Cole Miller in Dublin, Ireland. A featherweight bout that takes place in McGregor’s home country.
A rivalry has also been brewing between the two fighters for quite some time now, and below is a recent comment McGregor made about his opponent, and the featherweight division:
He’s slow. He’s scared. I’m fast. I’m fearless. There’s no contest. I see it in his voice, his body language. He’s petrified. I’m coming to get him. And not just him – forget him – I’ve listened to everyone calling me out. Now I’m back and I’m going to rip through them. I’ll smash Chad Mendes, I’ll annihilate Jose Aldo. I’m coming to take over the division. It’s my division.
McGregor is set to meet Miller on July 19, 2014, at UFC Fight Night 46.
