Dead Rising 3 is a Microsoft exclusive title, nothing new here. However, Larry Hryb who is the Xbox Live Director of Programming just confirmed via his Twitter account that this upcoming survival horror launch title for the Xbox One won’t be developed for the aging Xbox 360 console.
Reports from #eurogamer that Dead Rising 3 will launch on Xbox 360 are false. It’s an Xbox One exclusive – no plans for 360

Originally, Dead Rising 3 was developed by Capcom Vancouver on the PC with the 360 in mind. Apparently, the studio’s plans for the next-gen game during development was deemed to ambitious and was “breaking the bank” on the 360, according to producer Mike Jones. Therefore, it was never green-lit for the 360, and the rumors have been false all along.
Does this mean you should hang up your Xbox 360 controllers and toss the console into the trash can? Well, maybe not immediately since there will be more awesome titles developed for the 360 in the next three years. But if you can’t resist the Dead Rising series because it’s still considered one of the all-time best franchises in the history of the Xbox, then you may want to start considering and saving for the Xbox One next month.
Dead Rising 3 launches on the same day as the Xbox One, which is November 22, 2013.
