For those of you who didn’t see this coming, American war hero B.J. Blazkowicz is back again in new installment in the Wolfenstein series entitled Wolfenstein: The New Order. Bethesda Softworks launched the first teaser trailer for it today, and also announced via Twitter that Machine Games is currently developing the FPS.

“We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere,” Jens Matthies, creative director of the Sweden-based MachineGames, said in a statement. “As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS [first-person shooter] fans proud.”

According to Gamespot, Blazkowicz must launch an “impossible counter-offensive” against the Nazi powers that rule the world, set in an alternate 1960s. Sounds like a heck of a challenge doesn’t it? If not, you’ll see for yourself that the Nazi’s have a new killer weapon that looks like a freaging Mech, which is teased in the new trailer. If that’s the case then I hope to god Blazkowicz is geared up with more than just a shotgun and a Submachine gun.

Wolfenstein: The New Order will hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC later this year. Next-generation consoles will also get the game, but Bethesda didn’t specify which ones.

Is Ubisoft Planning For Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon II?

I just happen to finishes Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and I must say Ubisoft did a splendid job ripping off all my favorite sci-fi classics from the ’80s. The Terminator, Aliens, Predator, The Wraith and RoboCop all appear in Blood Dragon in some shape or form, and I loved it.

At first, I really thought this game was just going to be a skin job, and boy was I damn wrong. I got to experience a completely new kick ass story for under 15$, and hands down is hell of a bargain for what you get. I’m so convinced that I enjoyed Blood Dragon more than Far Cry 3 that I’m already looking forward to a sequel. Hats off to creative director Dead Evans for going out of his way in crafting a bizarre project like this, and I really hope the game is successful enough for Ubisoft to make a sequel, or even a prequel would blow my mind away.

According to a few sources, Evans is pushing for a Blood Dragon II, and Dread Central recently released part of an interview they did with Michael Biehn, who also weighed in on matter since he stars in the game as Sergeant Rex ‘Power’ Colt.

I don’t know anything. If they do a sequel, that is [Creative Director] Dean [Evans]‘ decision. For all I know it might not have anything to do with me, and he might make a completely different game. I had thought I heard someone say something about a sequel, but I really don’t know anything about it, which means if there was one, then I don’t know if I would be involved. I don’t know anything about what the subject matter would be or what it would be like. He never discussed with me about a sequel. I just kind of overheard someone talking about it actually, and it was probably a conversation I shouldn’t have heard.

Biehn continues, “So I don’t know if there is going to be a sequel or not. A couple of game sites have come out and said there is going to be a sequel, and I am quoted as saying there is going to be a sequel. I probably shouldn’t have said that from just overhearing what someone else was talking about while we were doing the voice-over work. I could be totally wrong about that.”

Personally, I’m already sensing Blood Dragon is a hit because I enjoyed every minute of it, and all the nerds like myself are talking about this game. So Ubisoft, if you’re listening, please make a sequel very soon.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is gearing up to be one “big” kick ass blockbuster this summer and merchandises are without any doubt coming our way. You name it, from action figures to a companion book, Pacific Rim will have it all. Just don’t expect anything at the scale of Star Wars, or at least not as of yet of course.

Additionally, ShockTillYouDrop recently reported that Yuke’s Co. is developing a video game based on the upcoming film by del Toro after they acquired a licence from Legendary Pictures. Yuke’s is considered one of the world leaders in fighting game technology with series such as the UFC and WWE.

It’s rumored that the Pacific Rim video game will be available as a download through Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store. However, the details at this point are far too limited to confirm anything.

As you may already know, a lawsuit alleging false advertising was filed earlier this week for Aliens: Colonial Marines, an FPS released in February that was developed by Gearbox Software and published by SEGA. Soon after the launch, Aliens: Colonial Marines was regarded in negative reviews as the “biggest train wreck” in gaming history due to poor AI, unbalanced gameplay and low-quality graphics in the single-player campaign.

Aside from all those nuisance details, the main concern most gamers had was that sequences from the pre-release demonstrations was significantly different in terms of quality than the ones presented in the shipped product. Therefore, Edelson LLC filed the suit, and Gearbox recently called it “beyond meritless” in a statement. “Attempting to wring a class-action lawsuit out of a demonstration is beyond meritless. We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation.”

Additionally, SEGA also commented on the matter with the following statement:

“Sega cannot comment on specifics of ongoing litigation, but we are confident that the lawsuit is without merit and we will defend it vigorously,” said a Sega spokesperson to Kotaku.

Lastly, a number of employees at TimeGate Studios are out of a job since March; TimeGate helped develop Aliens: Colonial Marines and recently filed for bankruptcy protection.

It’s confirmed: the next chapter in the Call of Duty franchise will be Ghosts, not Modern Warfare 4. The game, published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, will apparently be a benchmark for the new consoles, offering a new world, a new story, and new characters.

Microsoft will make a big next-gen Xbox reveal on May 21st, but for now you can enjoy the teaser trailer that’s been made available – not really much to it though.

Infinity Ward’s executive producer Mark Rubin has stated:

“Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels. We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.”

Call of Duty: Ghosts is slated to be released on November 5, 2013.

Are you excited about this announcement?

Rockstar Games has officially launched three new trailers today for its upcoming title, GTA V. I’m happy to hear that one of the trailers features in-game character Michael with one of Queen’s greatest hits, “Radio Ga Ga”. It’s a sweet song from their 1984 album, The Works, which was written by their drummer Roger Taylor.

In my opinion, the track blends flawlessly with Michael’s persona, which series creator Dan Houser of Rockstar Games outlined as a man who has everything and nothing to lose at the same time.

“Michael, to me, is… Who is he? I know who he is, I’m just trying to… He’s the person who is trying to ignore some rather large mistakes that they have made. The person who’s trying to forget about certain practical but still selfish decisions that they took. He’s a man, also, obsessed by images and by appearances and who, when the world doesn’t live up to those images and appearances, doesn’t know what to do. He just retreats into his head. What he also is, when we started out… What he kind of evolved into as we began thinking about him and developing him… He was the first character we came up with. He began as the idea of, ‘what happens to a regular GTA protagonist after they retire?’ Then you think, what would make him retire? He’s a man with a big ego and plenty of good values and plenty of bad values.”

Michael is a former bad ass bank robber who is facing a mid-life crisis, and the events that take place in GTA V will forever change his life.

The trailer above also features the two other main characters, Franklin and Trevor. So don’t forget to watch the entire thing.

Check it out!

Capcom has just announced that a demo is coming for the eagerly awaited Resident Evil sequel entitled Resident Evil Revelations, which was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS last year, and is finally coming out on other consoles next month. The demo will be made available to gamers very soon; however, no date is officially set yet for the release. Once the Revelations demo is out you can get your hands on it via the PSN, Xbox LIVE, the Nintendo eShop and Steam.

The demo will see players infiltrating the cruise ship ‘Queen Zenobia’ as Jill Valentine and attempt to rescue missing fellow BSAA members Chris Redfield and Jessica Sherawat whose last known location pinpointed them onboard.

The fear that was originally brought to players in Resident Evil Revelations on the Nintendo 3DS system returns redefined for home consoles complete with high quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience. Furthermore, the home console version will deliver additional content including a terrifying new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid Mode such as new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series. Raid Mode, which was first introduced to the series in the original version of Resident Evil Revelations, sees gamers play online in co-op mode or alone in single player taking on the hordes of enemies across a variety of missions whilst leveling up characters and earning weapon upgrades.

Resident Evil Revelations is slated to be released on May 21, 2013 in North America on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Windows PC.

Among the Sleep is possibly a genre-redefining video game. Doing away with combat, the developers have positioned you as a 2-year-old child who must find places to hide from atmospheric horrors. The developers, Krillbite Studio, hope to add puzzles and adventure elements to the game, but to do so, they need to ditch their shitty jobs and work full time on Among the Sleep.

I don’t remember 2 being so scary, but if this is what’s it’s like, I’m happy as hell that I’m not 2 anymore.

Krillbrite needs your help to make this awesome-looking game a reality. Head on over to Kickstarter and pitch in.

Microsoft has already confirmed the other day that they will reveal the Xbox 720 at an event on May 21st, which will introduce the new console and its capabilities with next generation of games, TV, and entertainment. We are looking forward to all those spicy details, and we also just learned today that Eidos Montreal may be developing Thief 4 for the Xbox 720. So imagine if Thief 4 was a part of that presentation next month, and that in my opinion would be totally sick.

Sadly, I’m just making that part up, but according to a Linked Profile of a developer at Eidos Montreal, Thief 4 is listed as in development for “PS4/Xbox 720/PC.” For those of you who want to play this game next year, and are already fixed in buying an Xbox 720 should expect Thief 4 to be available on this console.

Although this is still speculation, publisher Square Enix has only confirmed the stealth action game for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and other next-gen platforms.

No official date is attached for the launch of Thief 4 yet, but sources are saying sometime in 2014 to say the least.
