Fight Master starts tonight on Spike TV at 10:00 p.m. ET, just after a live airing of Bellator 96. Indeed it’s going to be stellar night of fights, the reality show consists of 32 fighters who get to chose between four coaches to help guide them to be the winner of the show, win the $100,000 grand prize, and get shot in the Bellator tournament. Sounds like a dream come true for a fighter, right?

One of the coaches, Randy Couture, talked about the central focus of Fight Master:

“The focus of the show is definitely on the tactics, the techniques, the differences in coaching styles and the choices that these athletes make,” Couture told MMA Fighting. “Which is, I think, in sharp contrast to some of the other reality genre-type shows. It’ll get a real good, technical inside look at the sport of mixed martial arts, which is going to both appeal to the hardcore fans and I think attract a lot of new viewers and new fans to the sport.”

Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Joe Warren are the three other coaches who will be joining Couture on the first season of Fight Master.

Unfortunately, after being knocked down by a punch in round one, Fitch lost terribly bad in his WSOF debut due to Burkman’s guillotine choke submission. This marks the second time in Fitch’s pro MMA career that he got defeated by a submission. However, I must say, where the hell was referee Steve Mazzagatti‘s head during the fight? Jeez! That was poor timing, my man.

Even UFC President Dana White reacted to the shocking submission via his official Twitter account:

Additionally, in the co-main event Roy Nelson will meet Stipe Miocic in the Octagon, and both UFC heavyweights will have to make the weight limit of 265 pounds.

I can’t really comment on why Sonnen thinks “King James” is a “dork” or a “nerd” in the clip because I didn’t catch the entire episode last night on Showtime, and I don’t follow basketball, but the audience on The Jim Rome Show seems to favor it. However, NFL linebacker Brendan Ajanbadejo and NBA commentator Tom Tolbert completely disagree with Sonnen when he says James shouldn’t be called a world champion.

Like I said, I can’t really weigh in on the matter, but it sounds like it could pick up a good discussion among fans of both sports.

However, “Rampage” got the ball rolling with his pro wrestling career in TNA with Kurt Angle, who gave “Rampage” a friendly welcome to the sport. You can watch the intense staredown in the video right above.

TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter released the following statement about his new high-profile member:

The main event features a rematch between UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. At UFC 156, Silva dismantled Alistair Overeem in the final round, winning the bout by KO, earning the giant a title shot in the division. Some still feel Silva is a massive underdog going into this fight since Velasquez pummeled him to a bloody mess a year ago. Just look up UFC 156 in Google to refresh your memory.

In the co-main event, former champion Junior dos Santos will meet the surging Mark Hunt, who recently had visa issues that could have forced him to pull out of the bout. UFC President Dana White later confirmed it wasn’t as big of an issue most media turned it out to be. If Dos Santos wins tomorrow night, expect him to be next in line for the heavyweight title shot.

UFC Tonight’s Kenny Florian and Chael Sonnen got the inside scoop on the toe injury suffered by Jon Jones during his fight with Sonnen at UFC 159.

Chael Sonnen word-for-word:

Why don’t you shut up and listen up and I’m going to tell you what’s going to happen in this next week. When I get to the Soprano’s state, when I step off that plane in New Jersey, there’s a new family in town, the Sonnen family, and I’m the new Don.

I’m taking over that state and the first thing I’m going to do is go to the speaks, the sitdowns, the social clubs and handing out smacks to anyone that doesn’t want to kiss the ring.

And my first order of business is to beat the bejesus out of Jon Jones and when I’m done I’m gonna go over to Johnny C’s place on Union Street in Brooklyn, have a couple of faschettas and give the guys of the other five families an opportunity to pay me tribute.
