We’ve been eagerly anticipating this day for a long time, and it’s finally here. With the long-awaited arrival of Behemoth‘s video for “Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel” it’ almost feels like an evil, Satanic early Christmas. The video, produced by Grupa 13, is beautiful, stunning, and shocking in so many ways, being shot in high-contrast black and white, extremely detailed, filmed in slow motion, excellent imagery that’s both gorgeous and disturbing, blood, and evil. If I were a kid, I think I might have gotten nightmares from this video, especially that it’s combined with the ominous and haunting music that is “Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel.” It’s a video of epic proportions serving as a complement to the song.

The track comes fresh off Behemoth’s upcoming 10th studio album, The Satanist, which will be released February 3rd in the UK, February 4th in North America and Poland, February 5th in Japan, and February 7th in Europe and the rest of the world. If you can’t wait that long, “Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel” is available for purchase at iTunes. Additionally, you can pre-order a variety of bundles for The Satanist, including CD, LP, T-shirt, and/or the deluxe box set at the Behemoth store.

Behemoth front man Nergal discusses the video:

Yes, we took all the time in the world to complete this project. And we did everything that was humanely possible to accurately express our vision. We crossed the Rubicon. ‘Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel’ is an ecstatic manifest of our unrestrained artistic will, where we dare to reach out beyond the limitations of the heavy metal genre. And it’s only the beginning… Enjoy!
