Amon Amarth Release The Massive “Father Of The Wolf” Video

As promised, Amon Amarth premiered the video for “Father of the Wolf” last night, January 17th, at the first show of their U.S. tour in Las Vegas. And as promised, the video was of epic proportions, delivering a mini movie drenched in Norse mythology.

I wasn’t at the show, so I can’t tell you how the fans responded, but I can tell you that I found the video, which was released online today, to be pretty damn awesome. After the initial scene, the video is dominated by a “live” performance from the band, which seems to play a role in the story; the music, to me, seems to be the soundtrack to the battle, perhaps even helping decide the outcome.

“Father of the Wolf” is one of the strongest tracks with one of the most memorable riffs on Amon Amarth’s latest, Deceiver of the Gods. Then again, Deceiver is an album full of powerful songs and to say one is stronger than the next is a fools game.

Video credits for “Father of the Wolf” are owed to:
Screenplay by Daniel J.W. Hughes
Story by Ramon Boutviseth
Starring Davis Osborne and Ryan Barringer
Executive Producers Brian Slagel, Justin Arcangel
Produced & Directed by Ramon Boutviseth

You would be foolish to miss Amon Amarth on their U.S. tour this January and February; this band truly puts on one of the best live performances today. If you do go see them, there’s a good chance that you’ll also see Enslaved and Skeletonwitch, who are providing support on this tour.
